Our mission
GLP-1 medications have become one of the most consequential — and most confusing — categories in Canadian healthcare. Prices swing by hundreds of dollars a month for the identical molecule. Brand names, generics, authorized generics, savings cards and telehealth bundles all compete for attention, and most of what you read is written by someone with something to sell.
NorthDose is media, not a pharmacy. We compare and educate. We gather the real numbers, explain what's actually different between these drugs, and lay it all out in plain language so you can have a better-informed conversation with a licensed physician. We do not sell medication, we do not prescribe, and we do not give medical advice.
How we make money
NorthDose earns affiliate commissions from some — not all — of the telehealth providers we review. When you sign up with a provider through one of our affiliate links, that provider may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. Right now that applies to a small number of providers, and we mark those links clearly with a disclosure directly above the button, every single time.
Here is the important part: those relationships never change the prices we show or the order in which we rank things. A pharmacy that pays us nothing — like Costco — appears at the top of our tables whenever it's the cheapest option, because being cheapest is what earns the top spot. If an affiliate provider is more expensive, our tables say so. The comparison is the product, and rigging it would destroy the only thing that makes us worth reading.
We may also earn from display advertising in the future. If that changes anything about how the site works, we'll say so here.
Why neutrality is the product
Every affiliate site faces the same temptation: rank whoever pays most. We've built NorthDose to resist it structurally. Our prices come from published provider pricing, direct pharmacy inquiries and news-verified list prices — not from the providers' marketing teams. Our rankings follow the numbers. And our editorial policy spells out exactly how we source and correct information.
If we ever get a price wrong, we want to hear about it and fix it fast. That's not just good manners; a comparison site that can't be trusted on the numbers has no reason to exist.
